MAN OH MAN was this last Wednesday Q&A great!
Starts off with my student, David, who joined about 9 months ago.
“Hey, David! Good to see you! How’ve you been?”
He tells me he has big news.
Well don’t bury the lead! What is it??
He’s been working his job that gave him a modest pay raise in NYC (the second he got from the program, see his story in the screenshot above)
That he got other offers that were again modest pay raises, but he wanted more. That this current job bought him time.
Time for what?
He’s been steadily applying for more jobs. Trying to find “the one.”
And let me tell you. He found it.
A recruiter had reached out to him for a DIFFERNET job than the one he applied for through the firm.
Said he should interview for this new job out in silicon valley.
AND HE GOT IT
2.5X HIS CURRENTL SALARY!!!
Now, I don’t have exact numbers. But he was working tech support in NYC. You can figure out the math. All I’m saying is the previous record was 161k for a single job that a student has ever received, and that was in the summer of 2023. I think this beats that number. Handily.
NOT TO MENTION that he’s getting a company car, relocation, and paid for housing. That last one is honestly wild to me.
Can you imagine getting a 2.5x pay raise while not having to pay for rent or a car??? That’s almost another multiple. 2.5x salary and your only expenses are taxes and food. UNREAL!!!
So what’s the job?
I don’t want to give too many details, but he’s doing analytics for self driving cars. In between analysis, AI, security, and reporting to stakeholders. A truly once in a lifetime opportunity. Amazing stuff.
But how’d he do it?
He followed the system.
He used the career system (formerly bootcamp) Learning Management System and got certified. He built projects. He used the AI. He met with his mentors. He worked the system AS WE TOLD HIM TO. And now look where he is. Working what may be the best job in America (and I almost mean that literally).
Now, let’s be clear. That’s not to say that you’ll make 2.5x salary in the career system with a paid for house and car. But you know what is realistic? Six figures. A job that matters. And an entry point into a career where you actually can make a killing later on down the line.
I can’t promise you’ll make 200k/year with a paid for house and car. But I can promise that I can help you be the best version of yourself in this industry.
